Kitsilano’s Robba da Matti has closed indefinitely after a fire damaged the pasta restaurant on Sunday morning.
Owners Matti Rikkinen and Valentina Crobu announced on Instagram that the Kitsilano location will be closed until further notice.
Located at 1898 West 1st Avenue, the popular restaurant is known for its fresh pasta and focuses on traditional Italian dishes, including handmade pasta, risotto, and, antipasto.
For those of you that have been in Kits for awhile, you’ll remember the location on West 1st as the long-time home of Italian eatery Epicurean Caffe, which had opened back in 1993.
This Kitsilano location is Robba da Matti’s fourth location. The original location is in Yaletown (orginally called Yaletown L’Antipasto) and they also have locations in the West End and Gastown.
