The Billy Bishop/Kerrisdale Royal Canadian Legion is hosting a special presentation by local artist Dylan Humphreys event on April 1st.
At ‘The Art of Resistance,’ Humphreys will be discussing contemporary art made by Ukrainian artists affected by the Russian invasion.
The presentation will feature an introduction of the artist’s work in response to the conflict, a breakdown of Ukrainian and Russian art history for context, and finally a survey of artworks made in the last year by Ukrainian artists or artists of Ukrainian heritage.
The presentation will feature images of paintings, drawings, digital illustrations, and will seek to inform the viewers on some of the cultural data points related to the ongoing conflict.
‘The Art of Resistance’ takes place on Saturday, April 1st at 3pm at the 1407 Laburnum Street in Kits Point. Royal Canadian Legion membership is not required to attend.
