Harsh Sharma, the celebrated restaurateur behind the revival of Main on Main and the Bombay Indian Restaurant Group, is set to breathe new life into a Kitsilano institution. Sharma has announced the acquisition and rebranding of Bimini’s Pub, now known as Bimini’s Since 1975, in a nod to its nearly five-decade legacy.
The pub, located on 4th Avenue, is slated to reopen this month. Sharma aims to restore its historic charm while reimagining it as a dynamic hub for dining and entertainment in the heart of the community.
Under Sharma’s leadership, the revamped Bimini’s will introduce a refreshed menu, blending classic pub fare with exciting new options. Diners can expect an expanded selection that includes a breakfast lounge, traditional comfort foods, and an elevated dinner offering. Complementing the culinary overhaul is a state-of-the-art kitchen and a new management team committed to delivering exceptional service.
Entertainment will also be a key feature of the revamped space. A lively lineup of events and performances will pay homage to the pub’s storied history, celebrating the loyal patrons who have made Bimini’s a beloved local gathering spot since its inception in 1975.
Bimini’s holds a significant place in Vancouver’s history. Established in 1974, it was the first establishment in British Columbia to receive a neighbourhood pub license. In its early days, it served as a popular meeting spot for Greenpeace activists, who often gathered there after work. The pub was destroyed by a fire in 2007 and remained closed for several years before being rebuilt and reopened in 2011.
