DanceHouse, in partnership with Canada Dance Ice Theatre, is set to dazzle Vancouver audiences with the premiere of Murmuration, a groundbreaking ice dance performance by Montreal-based company Le Patin Libre.

The show will take place at Kerrisdale Cyclone Taylor Arena from March 20 to 22 at 7:30pm, with matinee performances on March 22 and 23 at 2pm.

Inspired by the breathtaking movement of bird flocks, Murmuration transforms the ice into a dynamic stage where 15 elite skaters from seven countries move in seamless harmony. The choreography, crafted by Alexandre Hamel, Pascale Jodoin, and Samory Ba, incorporates complex algorithms to replicate the instinctual flow of nature, creating a visually stunning experience. The performance is enhanced by an atmospheric soundtrack composed by Jasmin Boivin and Philippe Le Bon.

Founded in Montreal in 2005, Le Patin Libre was created by a group of high-level figure skaters seeking to break free from the traditional glitz of the sport and reimagine skating as a form of contemporary performance art. Their work has since gained international acclaim, redefining ice dance with raw athleticism and choreographic precision.

To cap off the weekend, DanceHouse will host a free Disco Skating Party on Sunday, March 23, from 3:30 to 4:30pm. Audience members will have the opportunity to take to the ice alongside company skaters, celebrating an unforgettable fusion of sport and artistry.

Tickets and more information are available through DanceHouse’s website.
