Belle Spirale Dance Projects, in collaboration with the Chutzpah! Festival, Vancouver International Dance Festival, and New Works Dance, presents UNIVERSUS, a double bill featuring two world premieres at the Vancouver Playhouse on March 21 and 22, 2025.

The program includes Everything and Nothing, choreographed by Belle Spirale’s Co-Artistic Director Alexis Fletcher, and STATERA, created by internationally acclaimed Spanish choreographer Fernando Hernando Magadan.

Fletcher’s Everything and Nothing weaves poetry by Marisa Gold with scenic and lighting design by Sylvain Senez and Victoria Hunter Bell, offering a meditation on life’s interconnectedness. STATERA, set to an original score by Ben Waters, explores the delicate balance between security and peril, urgency and vulnerability.

UNIVERSUS was conceived as an artistic response to our increasingly uncertain world,” says Fletcher. “At its core, it showcases the transformative power of art, awakening a sense of purpose, agency, and hope.”

The production features eight renowned dance artists and is a recipient of Dance Victoria’s Chrystal Dance Prize. It also marks Belle Spirale’s debut at the Vancouver Playhouse. Tickets are available online.
