Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) is set to dazzle Vancouver audiences with a whimsical and empowering lineup for its 85th season, announcing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Legally Blonde The Musical as its summer 2025 offerings. The two beloved musicals will run in repertory from June 27 to August 16, 2025, under the open sky at the Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park.

“A Vancouver tradition since 1940, we’re thrilled to present a season full of heart, humour, and hope,” said Kevin Woo, TUTS General Manager. “Whether you’re stepping into Willy Wonka’s magical chocolate factory or marching in pink pumps alongside Elle Woods, this summer’s productions promise joy for all ages.”

In a TUTS first, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will bring Roald Dahl’s classic tale of golden tickets, eccentric candy makers, and moral lessons to life on stage. The production will be directed by Peter Jorgensen and choreographed by Keri Minty, with music direction by Sean Bayntun, returning for his third consecutive year with TUTS.

Meanwhile, back by popular demand, Legally Blonde The Musical will make its third appearance on the TUTS stage. The high-energy, feel-good story follows Elle Woods as she navigates Harvard Law School with charm, style, and fierce determination. The show will be directed by Jayme Armstrong, choreographed by Lyndsey Britten, and feature music direction by Eliza De Castro.

Season subscriptions, which include premium tickets to both shows, souvenir programs, and exchange insurance, are available now through May 15 for $99 (adults) and $69 (youth ages 5–12). Early bird single tickets go on sale May 22.
