The Vancouver Park Board’s Neighbourhood Matching Fund supports projects by neighbourhood-based groups who want to make creative improvements to local public land. The Board supplies funds up to $10,000 to match the contribution that the community makes through other funds raised, supplies donated or volunteer labour.
Previous Neighbourhood Matching Fund projects in Kitsilano include the Peace Project mural at the Kits Community Centre, the Trafalgar School tile wall mural, and the Cypress Community Garden.
The Spring application deadline for the Neighbourhood Matching Fund is April 15th. So if you have a project idea which actively involve people in building neighbourhood connections while improving parks or other public spaces, be sure to read up on how to apply online.
