It’s happening; Kits Beach is going downward dog Saturday, August 11, at 7:37pm with Public Sunset Yoga. If you’re feeling bendy, head down to the sand and join in.
The Kits area is known for a lot of things. At the top of the list is the world ranked Kits Beach. Followed closely by our fame as a yogi epicenter. Public Sunset Yoga combines the two and may well set a record for the largest pop-up yoga event in Vancouver. The event is expected to attract 1,000+ participants and everyone is invited to join in and make friends as the sun goes down.
The Public Sunset Yoga session is a joint venture by lululemon’s SeaWheeze Half Marathon (August 11) and KitsFest wellness festival (August 10-12).
Public Sunset Yoga will be led by Mara Branscome, who is a regular instructor at Semperviva and YYOGA Kits Studio.
This is a first for Kits Beach. No group before has been allowed to hold a large scale public yoga event at the popular beach. The event is open to first time or hard-core yogis and is a 60-minute yoga session. Mats will be provided. Space is limited so come early to get your Namaste on.
