French Canadian’s living in Kits (and the rest of us too) are in luck – Aphrodite’s now has fresh tourtiere! Tourtiere is a meat pie originating from Quebec. For French Canadians, it is a common staple on the dinner table for Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Tourtiere is different than the meat pie’s I ate growing up. Traditionally, it is made with finely ground pork with a hint of cinnamon and cloves.
Tourtiere is time consuming to make, but now you can take home a whole pie from Aphrodite’s to share with friends and family for $36, it serves 6-8 portions, or enjoy a slice at the restaurant with salad and maple syrup for $16.
