There’s a good chance chocolate is your one true love. It’s also a Valentine’s Day gift that’s appealing across the board for the full spectrum of recipients: lovers, grammas, kids, mums, dads… You get the idea.
Chocolate Arts, our oldest neighbourhood boutique chocolate shop, just celebrated its 20th birthday. Chocolatier Greg Hook opened up long before “locavore” was an annoying term, and began using the best cacao with regional B.C. ingredients. Hook studied “chocolate arts” at Callebaut College in Belgium and the Ecole du Grand Chocolat in France. The first Chocolate Arts shop was on West 4th, later moving to 1630 West 3rd. The shop has quite a following – you shoulda seen the buzz in the room at their 20th birthday celebration!
