Take your budding star gazers to the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre this Saturday, May 10 and celebrate International Astronomy Day 2014. In addition to the usual great shows and live presentations, interpreters will be on hand to answer questions and share their knowledge. You can also expect crafts for the kids and daytime tours of the observatory. Details below:

What and When:
- Saturday, May 10 The doors are open from 10 am – 5 pm. Participate in crafts and take in a daytime observatory tour, 12:30pm – 3:30pm. (free with admission)
- Saturday, May 10 7:00pm. Drop in before the 7:30pm show with your questions for a chance to chat to Space Centre staff and hear the latest on the night sky (free with admission)

If you can’t make it on Saturday maybe visit another time. A trip to the Space Centre is always fun for families. There are hands-on activities in the Cosmic Courtyard Gallery, excellent live and interactive science demonstration at the GroundStation Canada Theatre and admission also includes a show in the Planetarium Star Theatre, the only full-dome digital projection system in British Columbia. Every Saturday, 7:30- 9 pm, the Universe in a Night show takes you on a journey into deep space.
