What To Do In Kits This Weekend

1550

With Summer now in full swing, things are really picking up in Kitsilano. The summer months are always busy and your local Dairy Queen* doesn’t want you to miss out on any of the action, so here are four things to do in Kitsilano this weekend…

Vancouver Draw Down 2014: Saturday

Now in its 5th year, Vancouver Draw Down is an annual celebration of drawing in everyday life that challenges preconceptions about drawing and works to reconnect everyone with the power and creative pleasure of making marks.

Check out the schedule for local workshops which includes Crayon Etching at the Kitsilano Community Centre and Field Lines at Elm Park.

Car-Free Days Kitsilano: Saturday and Sunday

Kitsilano does Car-Free Day a little differently than the rest of Vancouver’s neighbourhoods. Instead of closing off a major street, people throughout Kits host potluck block parties with their neighbours. To find out where the parties are this year, follow this link.

Kitsilano Farmers Market: Sunday from 10am to 2pm

The Kitsilano Farmers Market runs every Sunday until October. Located in the parking lot of the Kitsilano Community Centre, the Farmers Market provides a wonderful opportunity to buy and eat locally grown, raised, crafted, baked, and harvested food. Find everything from Cawston-grown organic apples to Maple Ridge beeswax candles and wild BC morel mushrooms.

DON’T FORGET! It’s Father’s Day on Sunday!

Still looking for the perfect gift? Or need a little something extra for your Dad? How ’bout a Father’s Day Ice Cream Cake from Dairy Queen?

Father’s Day is this Sunday so head over to your neighbourhood Dairy Queen at West Broadway and Trafalgar to pick up a DQ Ice Cream Cake for the special occasion. Tell them Kitsilano.ca sent you when picking out your Father’s Day cake and get $3 off your purchase.
