From Farm to Table in Kits

provenanceDo you like to eat? Do you like farms? Our relationship to food is typically with the person who sells or serves us that food rather than the person who farmed that food.

Provenance: From Farm to Table is a 6-part food and culture series that looks at sustainable food systems and how we can be better consumers (pun intended).

We are what we eat and knowing where those eats come from is important.  In the words of Wendell Berry, a world where “producers and consumers cannot know or care about one another…the degradation of products and places, producers and consumers is inevitable.”

Join Anthony Nicalo and Natalie Jensen of Farmfed, along with special guests, at Barbara-Jo’s Books to Cooks for a look at our sources for meat, seafood, wine and produce.

Guests will enjoy sustainable hors d’oeuvres and beverages at each session. Plus for those guests attending all 6 sessions, Anthony Nicalo will prepare a picnic lunch at the final session at UBC Farm with food expert and author Michael Pollan.

Tickets are $65 per session or $360 for the full 6-part series. More details are on the website or call Barbara Jo’s Books to Cooks at 604.688.6755.
