New places to eat and drink are always sprouting up in our Kitsilano neighbourhood, and here are three new ones that are worth a visit. From upscale Indian food to French artisanal ice cream and Indonesian coffee and snacks, try all three for your lunches over the next few weeks.

Delhi-6 Indian Bistro

Named after a famous 17th century square in India, Delhi-6 offers modern Indian dishes with a polished, local West Coast flare. Try the vegetarian Chit Chat and Chaat – a New Delhi take on nachos, sort of, with wheat crisps topped off with chickpeas, potatoes, sliced green apple, pomegranate seeds, mint sauce, and yoghurt. For a heartier meal, try the succulent Lamb Shank Roganjosh – slow cooked in onion and Kashmiri ground spices, served with baby potatoes, asparagus, and warm naan bread.

La Glace

Dessert for lunch? Oui s’il vous plaît! Using natural and organic ingredients, La Glace will be serving us classical French ice cream and pastries starting August 4th. Menu items will include dairy and vegan ice cream in fantastical flavours including bananes foster (banana rum cream, toffee swirl, and cinnamon), matcha noir (green tea and black sesame), and café àla lavande (coffee cream with lavender). Look for financiers, macarons, profiteroles, marshmallows and other goodies as well. And do check out the gorgeous art deco interior, complete with marble and brass accents, mint-coloured upholstery, and a hand-painted gold-leafed mural featuring a pair of peacocks.

Nusa Coffee

For authentic Indonesian coffee and accompaniments, visit Nusa Coffee on West 4th Avenue. Jakarta-born Liza Wajong imports some of the best single-origin Indonesian coffee beans from five distinct regions and serves them by drip, pour over, French press, or syphon. Try the sweets as well, including the fluffy pandan cake (made with the bright green pandan leaf), the getuk (gluten-free cassava cake), and the nagasari (made with rice flour, coconut, and banana). Nusa also has some savoury dishes for lunch including pastels (meat and vegetable pockets), rendang beef stew, and gado-gado salad.
