Browns Restaurant Group (BRG) has shut the doors of its Browns Socialhouse location on West 4th Avenue in Kitsilano.
Located at 2296 West 4th Ave at Vine Street, the Kits outpost of Browns is closed permanently as of the start of October.
“The lease at this location has expired and we are sad to say that the franchise owners will no longer be serving the Kitsilano community from this property,” explains a BRG representative to Vancouver Is Awesome.
“The 16-year run was fun, and the people in the neighbourhood have always been great supporters. Browns Socialhouse will miss serving them,” the rep adds.
For those of you who have some Kits history in your Lululemon pocket, you may recall this Browns’ location as former home to a quaint little restaurant known for its late night hours and cheap weekend brunches – ‘The Vineyard’.
The place had uneven floors, the paint on the walls was so old it probably had lead in it, and the food was decent. But it was open LATE, as in well after the bars closed, and it had good drink and food specials for those late night visits.
The Vineyard closed in 2006 and that location soon after became home to Browns Socialhouse..
