Bloodline Design has opened a jewelry boutique at 2005 West 4th Avenue.

Started in 1994 by co-founders Malcolm and Andrea Norman in the dining room of a single bedroom apartment at 14th and Granville, Bloodline has quietly built their brand from a homemade jewelry startup to a well-known wholesale business with retail partnerships ranging from Blue Ruby to Nordstrom.

It turns out Bloodline’s ties to Kitsilano are deep. The co-founders met on Kits Beach and their new permanent West 4th location is on heels of a successful pop-up shop down the street.

In 1992 on a Saturday morning walk to Kits Beach in Vancouver, Malcolm ran into Andrea. It was love at first sight. She bought him some rings, and as fate would have it when he visited the Jeweller to have them re-sized, the anvils, torches, and tools of the trade resonated strongly with him. It was like stars colliding. His draw to jewelry suddenly made sense.

The new bricks-and-mortar shop will offer the brand’s full range of unisex jewelry designs and double as a showcase for new collections before they are launched on their website or through retail partners.
