According to Mayor Ken Sim, Kitsilano Pool will be open to the public this summer after all.
While the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation had previously said it would be closed for summer, at a news conference today the Mayor said the pool will open August 7th, as long as there are no major setbacks to repair efforts.
Repair work on the pool is being completed by Scott Construction and is expected to cost $3 million. According to Sim, these repairs will extend the pool’s life two more seasons.
