Vancouver’s rich cultural heritage is more accessible than ever, thanks to a joint Pay-What-You-Can initiative by two beloved Vanier Park institutions.

On the first Sunday of each month, both the Vancouver Maritime Museum and the Museum of Vancouver are inviting guests to explore their exhibits at a price that fits any budget. The initiative is part of an ongoing effort to ensure that financial barriers don’t prevent families, students, and curious minds from engaging with the city’s maritime and cultural history.

From shipwreck stories and Arctic expeditions to immersive displays on Vancouver’s evolving identity, visitors can enjoy a full day of discovery in one of the city’s most scenic park settings.

“Whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply looking for an inspiring day out, we welcome everyone with open arms,” the Maritime Museum said in a statement.

Upcoming Pay-What-You-Can Sundays include:

  • May 4
  • June 1
  • July 6
  • August 3
  • September 7
  • October 5
  • November 2
  • December 7

Advance tickets can be booked online, with walk-in admission available based on capacity.
