Zulu Records: Dan Mangan’s Album Release

1312

August is officially free music month at Zulu Records!

A quick saunter to Zulu reveals that they are hosting the release of Dan Mangan‘s second album, Nice, Nice, Very Nice. Dan Mangan will be in store on Saturday, August 22nd, at 5 pm to perform some songs and sign albums.

One of Vancouver’s singer-songwriters, Dan Mangan produces introspective music that has been compared to those of Nick Drake and Badly Drawn Boy. He recently stole the stage at the Vancouver International Folk Festival this summer, and he has been touring with other Canadian indie favourites such as Hey Rosetta! and Patrick Wilson. If you’re interested to find out more of Dan Mangan’s music, you can read an interview of him by Exclaim! and an admiring review by The Georgia Straight. His visit to Zulu is your chance to see Dan Mangan perform in advance to two record release shows at The Cultch East Cultural Center on August 28 and 29.

If you’re keen to support homegrown talent and local independent music–or if you’re looking for a late afternoon of free music–then head over to Zulu Records tomorrow. It’s events like these which show why Zulu calls itself not only a records store, but a community centre as well!
