Cheap Eats at Terra Breads

Mia Stainsby of the Vancouver Sun points out her Top 10 Cheap Eats in Vancouver and three local Kits eateries get the call. We’ve mentioned Go Fish and The Noodle Box before on Kitsilano.ca but Terra Breads has gone unnoticed to date.

For the most delicious of sandwiches and panini, head here. The Fifth Avenue location opened two years ago in a more spacious and modern counterpoint to the funky Kits location. The roster of some 11 sandwiches includes roast lamb with pear and mint on organic raisin bread; roast turkey with cranberry chutney on pumpkin seed bread; cambozola and cucumber on walnut bread. Have the sandwiches grilled, or not. as well, go nuts on the rustic baking – the baby cakes, the sweet and savoury chewy focaccias, the breakfast breads (blueberry white chocolate, grape with pinenuts), cinnamon buns, cookies, rustic tarts. That salads are crisp and yummy and there’s a new soup daily.

I guess my days of dropping in to just buy a sourdough baguette are done.
