The results are in and they look good for the pro-biking contingent:
- 26% increase in cyclists using the bridge
- 31% increase in women riders
- 70,000 additional trips over the summer months
- A significant reduction in bicycle accidents
According to the poll, residents support continuing the bike lane trial by a margin of 2 to 1 and the impact of vehicle crossing time has been “negligible”.
These results haven’t silenced those upset about the bike lane though – a Province article article about this new 310 person-strong poll has attracted a stream of angry comments.
