Wine for the Weekend

1303

Every day is a good day for bubbles! And, just as not all great bubbles need be champagne or expensive, not all cheap sparkling need be horrifyingly bad. Today’s bottle is a perfect example of cheap and delicious bubble: the Monmousseau Cuvee J.M. Brut Tourraine N.V.

I picked up this wonderful sparkling Cabernet Franc based wine from France’s Loire Valley (the sub-region Tourraine to be exact) to pair with ravioli and it worked perfectly. This is all about simple but flavourful red berry fruit, and a clean and dry texture. A hint of caramel and cream shows up in the finish and overall I found this wine to be extremely elegant for the price you pay. A beautiful and fun wine that hits well above its price point – celebrate the coming Spring with style and see what good value bubble is all about.
