Kids’ Fest is leaving Kitsilano’s Vanier Park

After 33 years at Kitsilano’s Vanier Park, the Vancouver International Children’s Festival is moving to Granville Island.

Children's Festival at Vanier Park

We all love Vanier Park but the best artistic work in the world today requires technical support that we cannot provide in tents. The decision to move the Festival was made with great deliberation. Granville Island is a vibrant, creative hub and home to numerous cultural festivals and events. It offers the environment and opportunities to take the Festival into the 21st century.

Over the past 12 months, our government funding has been slashed by more than $200,000, putting our organization in jeopardy. With up to 36 per cent of our annual revenues coming from government sources, this hinders our ability to produce the Festival. At Granville Island we have access to theatrically equipped venues, plenty of outdoor spaces, and most importantly of all, we can reduce our production costs by a whopping 40 per cent.

But before we can get there, we need your support.

Make your tax-deductible donation today. Your gift of $1,000, $500, $250 or even $100 will help get the Festival to Granville Island and keep this treasured Vancouver tradition alive.
