After a 100% sold out season in 2007, Bard on the Beach Artistic Director Christopher Gaze has extended the run of the Mainstage season for an additional week in 2008. New Festival dates this year are from May 29th to September 27th.
Comedy and tragedy are dramatically paired in the Festival’s two performance tents. The larger Mainstage tent will feature the light-hearted romance Twelfth Night and Shakespeare’s great tragic drama King Lear. The intimate 240-seat Douglas Campbell Studio Stage tent will feature the magical comedy The Tempest and the bloody revenge drama Titus Andronicus.
Performances run Tuesdays through Sundays on Vanier Point. Evening curtain is at 8pm, except Sunday evenings and in September when it is 7pm. Matinees are scheduled on selected weekends and weekdays. Play ticket prices are $33.00 (evenings) and $18.00 to $27.50 (previews & matinees) including taxes and are on sale now.
