For the second time in the last two weeks a woman has been sexually assaulted on the West Side of Vancouver. Police say a man walked up behind a 22-year-old woman and groped her on Thursday night.

The man apparently came up behind the woman and grabbed her as she walked along West Broadway near Dunbar around 9:30 pm. She ran then called police but the VPD wasn’t able to find the suspect.

A similar assault took place on March 2nd in the 2800 block of Alma. Police have issued a public warning as they believe the two incidents may be linked.

The suspect is described as 5’7″, with short, straight, dark hair. He was wearing dark jeans and a dark jacket. Police have released a composite sketch of the man in hopes of finding him.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Vancouver Police Sex Crimes Unit at 604-717-0600 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
